Shooting Activities

5 Stand Trap Shoot

Trap shoots are scheduled every Sunday, April through the end of November. (Weather permitting)
$3 per string/$4 for non-members.
25 shots per string.
Shooting begins at Noon.

The Rifle Range is closed during trap shoots.

5 Plate Steel Pistol Shoot

The 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month.
$10 per gun.
Shooting begins at 9:00 am on Saturday & 1:00 pm Sunday.

Please bring enough magazines to complete a string. A string consists of 25 shots.


Beginners are welcome to all of our shooting events.

October Activities

This October we have the following activities taking place:

October 10: The ranges will be closed from 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm as a curtesy to a neighbor holding and video recording an outdoor wedding.

October 17th: Rifle range is open to the public for rifle sight in. 10am – 2:00pm

Monthly Meeting: This months member’s meeting will be held at the American Legion. Oct 21st 7:00pm.

Women’s Group Pot Luck & Meeting

Wednesday, November 6th at 6:00 pm.

MTM Community Center, 18 School Street, Lisbon Falls – Room 10. (Far left entrance – look for the sign on the door.)

If you were able to join in at one of our shoots or would like to come for the first time to see what you think, bring a friend and join us for the last meeting of 2019.

Bring a small main dish, salad or dessert to share. I’ll have assorted beverages, everything we need for plates, bowls, cups, napkins, silverware, power strips, chili and corn muffins to get us started.

We’ll recap our first season and brainstorm some ideas for next year.

Instead of a meeting fee, for each $5.00 donation to benefit the LFGA Clubhouse Fund Raiser, receive a chance to win a 22 Caliber, or a Maglula Uplula Speed Loader.

NRA Basic Pistol Course

The Lisbon Fish & Game Association is hosting an NRA Basic Pistol Course at our facility .

Saturday October 5th 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Arrive 30 minutes early for registration.

The course will be taught by NRA certified instructor Mike Paris and will cover the basics of safe gun handing and shooting.

This course is intended for all adults regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA affiliation.

Emphasis is on the safe and proper handling and use of pistols. Participants will learn about:

  • Firearms safety,
  • Parts and operation,
  • Shooting fundamentals,
  • Care and cleaning, storage options,
  • Pistol selection and more.

What to bring:

  • Your favorite gun and 50 rounds of ammo. (No magnum or +P ammo) Bring your unloaded gun, in a case, directly to the instructor, when you arrive.
  • Eye & Ear Protection
  • High collard shirt and long pants are recommend as well as a brimmed hat.
  • Lunch and snacks

Women’s Try-A-Gun Shoot

We had 10 women come out to the pistol range Tues. July 9th for a Try a Gun night. Members of our club executive committee and  several others generously donated their time, ammo and the use of a wide variety of pistols to make this experience possible.  On behalf of the group, a sincere Thank you.

Maine 4-H Shooting Sports Program Volunteering Opportunity

The University of Maine 4-H Shooting Sports Program will host a one-day workshop to certify volunteer leaders in archery and rifle.

Minimum enrollments are required in order to offer each discipline. Participants will be certified to teach one specific discipline to youth participating in a formal 4-H Shooting Sports Program.

Participants must arrange for and complete VOLT training with their county extension office before they can become Maine 4-H Shooting Sports volunteers.

Each state maintains it’s own standards for certification that may exceed those established by the National Committee, and may differ from Maine standards.

TRAINING: All sessions will be hands on, and will include all materials.

REGISTRATION: The registration form and full payment of $25.00 are due at registration. Please note that fees are not refundable if cancellation is made after December 29th.

January Training

Date: January 5th 8:00 am – 8:00 pm.

Location: Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine headquarters : 205 Church Hill Rd, Augusta, 04330

Cost: $25.00 per participant and includes lunch and dinner.

Schedule

  • 8:00 am: Arrival/Check in. Coffee & muffins available.
  • 9:00 am: Welcome-Orientation: 4-H Shooting Sports Overview
  • 9:20 am: Session I Instruction:  Archery and rifle will be on range.
    12:00: Lunch.
  • 2:45 pm: Session II Instruction.
  • 5:00 pm: General Session: Ages and Stages/Multiple Intelligences-Ron.
  • 6:00: Dinner.
  • 6:30 pm: Risk Management/ Planning Session/ Youth Development.
  • 8:00 pm: Closing.
